Trainers Challenge

In an effort to promote Canada's elite horse training talent and get our
youth "Back In The Saddle" Rocking Heart Ranch Ltd. is looking for 'up and
coming' horse trainers to take part in our second annual Rocking Heart
Ranch Colt Starting Challenge and Sale 2.0 being held at the Taber Agriplex
in Taber, Alberta on August 16th, 2014.

Trainer applications will be taken
until May 6th, 2014. We are also looking for 4-H members to help mock judge
the event which includes a free lunch and a chance at winning a 2014
weanling colt (4-H participants exclusive for the colt draw). Applications
for trainers, sponsors, and 4-H participants are available on our website
at www.rockingheartranchltd.com . The winning trainer will take home a
first place prize of $5000, second place a team roper stenciled saddle, and
third place a trophy buckle.

Admission is free with several substantial
draws for the general public including a weekend package for two to
Waterton Lakes National Park. There is a Western Style trade fair offering
everything from horse trailers to the latest fashions in Ladies Western
wear.

Last year’s winner was Jaquelene See from Edson, AB, reserve champion Maria Michel, Revelstoke, BC, and third place Terrel Oler, Canyon, BC.

2014 QHAA BATTLE OF THE BREEDS is looking for new members!!!

Every September during the Masters weekend at Spruce Meadows (2nd weekend in September) the QHAA
team of 4 horses and 4 riders compete at the BATTLE OF THE BREEDS. During this competition the
Quarter Horse Team competes against various other breeds in jumping, driving, barrels, speed trail and compulsory events. During the 5-day competition, the team competes for cash prizes and enjoys the camaraderie and the special atmosphere of Spruce Meadows.
