I would also like to thank the outgoing directors from 2016:

Thank you to all of the above past and present Directors for all of your passion and enthusiasm to the QHAA, I know all of our members appreciate all of your dedication and commitment to the board! It takes MANY volunteer hours to put on these shows and to make these show so successful so thank you all so very very much!
Our AGM went very well and was well received, you will all notice when the show bills are posted some changes:
-our prices are a lot more consistent and reflective of our economy
-we have added a non AQHA open small fry division for our youth 11 and under, a progressional class from our lead line to keep our youth and future of our association involved
-entering halter is no longer a requirement for the high point awards, (due to restrictions placed by AQHA - excessive white, parrot mouth etc and in the novice program ie not having to own horse you ride etc) it's really quite simple - the most points earned within your divison wins the high point award!!
-High Point Open points will be on the HORSE and the youth/amateur division points will be on the SAME exhibitor SAME horse combinations.
-entering halter will also no longer be a requirement for the all inclusive show fees for the same above noted restrictions, but we hope that with the all
inclusive fee, exhibitors will have more freedom and choices to enter up and try new classes!
-due to member feedback and input our class schedule has also changed, we will have the show bills up shortly and are excited for the changes and exhibitor friendly format!!
-the show dates have been posted on our website and Facebook, and due to the Novice Championship show date changes we have moved the all novice Fat and Fuzzy show date to April 8th- again in response to our member feedback!
-the bylaw changes posted were all approved and are now more reflective of the social network times!
These are some of the changes for 2017, if you are wanting more input, please plan to attend the AGM next year and let your voices be heard!
We can't say it enough, this board is here for YOU!! We want what is best for the association and its members but we need YOUR HELP!! Please let's work TOGETHER to make these shows the best ever!
We appreciate all of your support and positivity as we begin the 2017 show season!
Thanks again to all our volunteers, show staff, show manager, show secretaries and our SPONSORS!!! Without all of you we could not do what we all love so much and that is showing and promoting the American Quarter Horse! It is this common passion that brings us all together as competitors and friends so let's enjoy it and have FUN!!
We are very excited for 2017 and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
Thanks again on behalf of the entire board,
